ATTITUDES AND ATTIRE. Founded by Lyn Berman in 1996, the idea for Attitudes & Attire™ was simple—to build the self-esteem of women entering the workforce and to provide professional interview attire. With great determination and a driving passion, Lyn founded Attitudes & Attire with $500 of her own money and one volunteer, advising 65 women in the first year. As the success of the Attitudes & Attire approach became recognized, more and more social service agencies began referring clients. Over the years, Lyn steadily grew the organization with the support of countless volunteers, donors, and sponsors.

SHARED HOUSING CENTER was created in 1984 to provide and facilitate affordable housing options. Its mission is to offer housing options and supportive services that foster independence, empowerment, and self-worth and to serve a multicultural, intergenerational population. Since inception, the Shared Housing Center has offered housing and services to critically at-risk populations -- older adults, single parents with young children, and persons with special needs -- seeking to elevate themselves from homeless and near homeless situations to lifestyles of relative self-sufficiency.
